Melbourne, Australia – 11 March 2026Heidi, the preferred AI Care Partner for Australian clinicians, has announced a new collaboration with Medadvisor to support prescribing practitioners across community pharmacy and general practice. This initiative will streamline clinical documentation, strengthen clinical governance and allow the prescriber to spend more time focused on patient care.

Co-designing AI workflows for prescribers

Heidi has announced a new collaboration with Medadvisor to co-design AI-enabled clinical workflows that enhance the practice of full-scope prescribing practitioners across community pharmacy and general practice settings.

Heidi has announced this new collaboration to co-design AI-enabled clinical workflows that enhance the practice of full-scope prescribing practitioners across community pharmacy and general practice settings.

The initiative aims to streamline clinical documentation, strengthen clinical governance, and free up more time for patient care by embedding safe, standards-aligned AI tools directly into everyday prescribing workflows.

The codesigned template will support history taking, documentation of diagnosis and the management plan, communication with other healthcare professionals, and follow up planning, while ensuring audit ready documentation and maintaining strong privacy, safety, and quality standards.

Scaling AI-powered care across 5,700+ pharmacies with Medadvisor

Heidi’s exclusive partnership with Medadvisor will bring Heidi’s AI Scribe and Evidence functionality into Medadvisor’s network of over 5,700 pharmacies across Australia, streamlining documentation and workflows across medication reviews, vaccinations, expanded scope services including prescribing, while supporting pharmacists to focus on their patients while maintaining strong clinical governance and patient safety standards.

Initial integration will see Heidi’s AI Scribe and Evidence functionality made available in the Medadvisor for Pharmacy software across 2026. Beyond this, the partnership will focus on the continued development of innovative AI solutions designed to enhance patient care and improve pharmacy workflow efficiency.

Designed for real-world pharmacy practice

Built specifically for the realities of community pharmacy, the integration embeds AI powered tools directly into existing workflows within Medadvisor for Pharmacy, allowing pharmacists to:

  • Generate structured clinical notes during patient consultations
  • Improve consistency and completeness of documentation
  • Support audit and regulatory readiness
  • Manage peak service periods, such as flu season, more efficiently

Importantly, the AI will function as a support tool, with pharmacists retaining full clinical oversight and responsibility for all decisions and records.

Governance and patient safety front and centre

Pharmacies participating in all expanded scope services will be amongst the first in the country to pilot the new Heidi solution from March 2026, with a national rollout across the Medadvisor platform planned for later in the year.

Templates and workflows will be co-designed with practising pharmacists to reflect day-to-day pharmacy operations and state-based regulatory requirements.

This pharmacist-led approach is underpinned by enterprise-grade privacy, security and compliance standards, with Heidi adhering to the Australian Privacy Principles and international healthcare standards, including HIPAA and GDPR, and holding enterprise-grade security certifications such as SOC2 and ISO27001.

Supporting the next generation of pharmacists

As part of Medadvisor and Pharmacy Guild partnerships, Heidi will support eligible training pharmacists across Australia by providing complimentary access to Heidi Pro and Heidi Evidence during placement and early practice.

By reducing documentation burden and improving access to evidence-informed guidance at the point of care, the initiative aims to help emerging pharmacists build strong clinical habits from day one – including clearer consultation notes, consistent service documentation, and confidence applying guidelines in real-world pharmacy settings. This means a stronger workforce and improves patient outcomes across community pharmacies, but also enables pharmacists to spend more meaningful time in direct consultation with patients rather than on paperwork.

Fiona Watson, Pharmacist at Wholelife Redland Bay, said reducing the administrative burden of documentation during consults will make a meaningful difference to patient care.

“We are delivering more consults than ever before, and with that comes increasing documentation requirements that can quickly add up. If AI can safely assist with generating clinical notes, it allows us to spend more time engaging with patients on their health needs and less time on paperwork. The key is that it supports our workflow without compromising safety – and that’s what we’re focused on.”

Wayne Marinoff, CEO of Medadvisor, said the partnership reflects the changing role of pharmacists in primary care.

“Pharmacists are stepping up to deliver more clinical services, from prescribing to preventative health programs. But the administrative load has increased alongside that expanded scope. This partnership is about practical support. By combining Medadvisor’s understanding of pharmacy workflows with Heidi’s AI capabilities, we can help pharmacies reduce manual documentation while maintaining strong compliance and governance standards. Ultimately, it’s about helping pharmacists practice at the top of their scope.”

Mr Trent Twomey, The National President of Pharmacy Guild of Australia, said the announcement represents an important next step in supporting prescribers to work to the top of their scope.

“This is about giving prescribers smarter tools that fit seamlessly into how they already practice, so they can spend more time with patients and less time on repetitive administrative tasks. By co-designing AI workflows with frontline clinicians, we can help ensure these technologies are safe, trusted, and genuinely useful in supporting high-quality prescribing decisions.”

Dr. Thomas Kelly, Co-Founder and CEO of Heidi, said community pharmacy is a critical setting for safe AI adoption in healthcare.

“Pharmacists are on the front line of primary care – they’re trusted, they’re accessible, and they’re doing more clinical work than ever, and they deserve tools that give them time back without compromising governance or patient safety. When you reduce admin and lift documentation quality at the same time, you raise the bar for care. These partnerships with Medadvisor and the Pharmacy Guild are about doing that at scale – safely, securely, and in a way that works in the reality of pharmacy.”
